After installing and activating the plugin, my WP site continuously reported “internal server errors” (it became unusable). It took me some patience and several page-reloads to open the plugin directory, deactivate, and finally uninstall the Matomo WP plugin.
Several users report similar issues online (Matomo Forum & GitHub). Others report similar findings with WP 6.2 and PHP 8.x.
While I am sure the community is willing to analyze and fix those issues, a plugin that tears down my site is barely unusable, and I completely lost trust.
Nevertheless, good luck to this open source project and lots of success to the community behind it.
