Hello,
I really hope that somebody might be able to help advise with this problem. My company paid somebody to design and set-up a website - she chose this site http://www.wordpress.org for the wordpress and http://www.hostgator.com as the hosting company.
The website was working normally for many weeks and I had been accessing it through /wpadmin to make changes and updates to my site. However, for the past few days the site has been down revealing a message about an 'Internal Server Error', this is my company's website: http://www.restart2.eu
My problem is now I can get access to my site, and the hosting organisation was registered to the individual who set it up - I wasn't made aware of this and it has created a huge problem for us. Not only in terms of ownership, but also the wordpress files are stored on the hosting website in something called cPanel: https://gator3001.hostgator.com:2083/
I also can't get access to this as the person who designed the site set this up with her own email and details.
My first point of call was to contact the person who designed the website and set up the hosting for the details but I haven't had any response, and I have no idea what to do. I also contacted the hosting website but they told me that I couldn't do anything without access to the cPanel which contained the files for the website.
I think one of the main problems is that i don't have access to the wordpress files for my website. I own the domain for the site and purchased this separately, and I own the website as well. This is the first time that I have employed somebody to design a webiste using wordpress so I don't know what can be done in this situation - I 'm hoping somebody on the site can help.
